SJCOG has three job openings. We are seeking to fill one Senior Regional Planner and two Regional Planners at either an Assistant or Associate level to join the Planning, Programming, and Project Delivery Division. The position is responsible for supporting regional transportation planning work activities for San Joaquin County, which may range from comprehensive planning, bus and rail transit planning, air quality, congestion management, and performance monitoring. The successful candidate will develop staff reports and presentations for SJCOG's advisory committees and Board meetings, and engage in extensive involvement and consensus building with city and county local jurisdictions, other regional planning agencies, state/ federal agencies, and the public.
Qualifications
Assistant Regional Planner: A Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university with a major in regional or urban planning, community development, public policy, or a closely related field. Internships or full-time, relevant experience performing technical planning duties.
Associate Regional Planner: A Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university with a major in regional or urban planning, community development, public policy, or a closely related field. 2 years full time, relevant professional experience. A (related) Master's Degree may substitute for some professional experience.
Senior Regional Planner: A Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university with a major in regional or urban planning, community development, public policy, or a closely related field. 5 years full-time professional urban or regional planning experience. A (related) Master's Degree may substitute for some professional experience
