The coordination of activities will involve the participation in SJCOG's advisory committees with the development of written staff reports and presentations (verbal reports). Associate Program Specialist - Outreach and Marketingdibs is a Transportation Demand Management (TDM) program of the San Joaquin Council of Governments (SJCOG) and was established to promote smart travel options such as carpooling, vanpooling, transit and rail, bicycling, walking, and park and ride lots throughout San Joaquin, Stanislaus, and Merced counties to improve air quality and reduce congestion. Your job would be employing creative strategies with a sales mindset to encourage public agencies, employers and community organizations to adopt and advance the use of smart travel options. Although SJCOG is a San Joaquin County transportation planning agency, this job serves three counties requiring significant outreach in Stanislaus and Merced as well. The position therefore could involve travel (driving) to employers and events in all three counties as often as weekly. This is a rewarding opportunity to make a difference and a positive impact on the environment and people’s lives. The position will work under the direct supervision of a Senior Program Specialist in SJCOG’s Planning, Programming, and Project Delivery Division. This division is overseen by the SJCOG Deputy Director.
