SJCOG is hosting the California Transportation Commission (CTC) for its October meeting. Tracy Mayor Robert Rickman, SJCOG Board Chair, and Andrew Chesley, SJCOG Executive Director, will provide welcoming remarks and highlight the region to the commissioners and agencies from throughout the state.
The CTC, responsible for the programming and allocating of funds for the construction of highway, passenger rail and transit improvements throughout California, consists of a 13 member board, nine of which are appointed by the Governor. It is an independent public agency dedicated to ensuring a safe, financially sustainable, world-class multimodal transportation system that reduces congestion, improves the environment, and facilitates economic development through the efficient movement of people and goods.
The commission meeting begins at 1 p.m. Wednesday, October 17. A reception will follow at 5:30 p.m. at the University Plaza Waterfront Hotel, 110 W. Fremont St., Stockton. The commission meeting will continue at 9 a.m. on Thursday in the SJCOG Board room.
