[ARCHIVED] Virtual Speaker Series event marking the release of the NSJV COVID-19 Impact Review

SJCOG - CBPR Speaker Series

The San Joaquin Council of Governments, in partnership with the Center for Business and Policy Research (CBPR) at the University of the Pacific, is holding a virtual speaker series event marking the release of the Northern San Joaquin Valley (NSJV) COVID-19 Impact Review. Join us at noon, June 28, 2022. Register at: https://bit.ly/3PXGMcG

In March 2020, a series of emergency declarations due to the COVID-19 pandemic were followed by lockdowns and stay-at-home orders. More than two years later the significant and continuing impacts of the pandemic on people, businesses, governments and society is increasingly apparent. As a result of the pandemic, families lost loved ones, people lost jobs, employees became ill, hospitals became overwhelmed, education and health care became disrupted, supply chains became constrained, and preexisting systemic inequities became exacerbated.

The impacts of the pandemic, however, extend even further than fully understood at this time. To begin a process of regional reflection and discussion around these impacts, the Center for Business and Policy Research (CBPR) at the University of the Pacific is releasing a review report covering some of the impacts experienced in the North San Joaquin Valley (NSJV) region, which consists of the counties of San Joaquin, Stanislaus and Merced.
