[ARCHIVED] We are hiring!

Job

This is an exciting opportunity to work in a dynamic planning agency that serves as the Metropolitan Planning Organization (MPO), Regional Transportation Planning Agency (RTPA), and Local Transportation Sales Tax Authority for one of the fastest growing counties in California that connects the San Francisco Bay Area and Sacramento to the Central Valley and Sierra Mountains.

Planning Intern
$15/hour; Minimum 20 to maximum 29 hours per week. Starting June 2019. Internship is a maximum one-year duration (shorter is negotiable).
The coordination of activities will involve the participation in SJCOG's advisory committees with the development of written staff reports and presentations (verbal reports). This includes the opportunity to provide presentations directly to the SJCOG Board of Directors. Many activities require extensive involvement and consensus building with city and county local jurisdictions, other regional planning agencies, state/federal agencies, and the public.

Associate Program Specialist - Outreach and Marketing

dibs is a Transportation Demand Management (TDM) program of the San Joaquin Council of Governments (SJCOG) and was established to promote smart travel options such as carpooling, vanpooling, transit and rail, bicycling, walking, and park and ride lots throughout San Joaquin, Stanislaus, and Merced counties to improve air quality and reduce congestion. Your job would be employing creative strategies with a sales mindset to encourage public agencies, employers and community organizations to adopt and advance the use of smart travel options. Although SJCOG is a San Joaquin County transportation planning agency, this job serves three counties requiring significant outreach in Stanislaus and Merced as well. The position therefore could involve travel (driving) to employers and events in all three counties as often as weekly. This is a rewarding opportunity to make a difference and a positive impact on the environment and people’s lives.  The position will work under the direct supervision of a Senior Program Specialist in SJCOG’s Planning, Programming, and Project Delivery Division. This division is overseen by the SJCOG Deputy Director.
