NOTICE IS GIVEN that at 4:00 p.m. (or soon thereafter), on June 27, 2024 at 555 East Weber Avenue, Conference Room, 1st Floor, Stockton, California, a public hearing will be held to receive oral and written statements regarding any proposed amendments to the Measure K Ordinance and Expenditure Plan.
In 2006, San Joaquin voters renewed the previous Measure K program for another 30-year period to implement the ½-cent sales tax for transportation purposes through March 31, 2041. The Measure K Renewal Expenditure Plan calls for street repairs, safety and operational improvements on local streets and roads, projects to reduce congestion on streets and highways, passenger rail and bus service to provide alternatives to the car and improve air quality of the San Joaquin Valley, as well as separation of streets from railroads at designated crossings to improve safety.
The City of Lathrop has requested an amendment to the Measure K Expenditure Plan to modify the Roth Road project listing of the Measure K Regional Arterial category of projects. The San Joaquin Regional Transit District has requested an amendment to the Measure K Expenditure Plan to add passenger amenities and vehicle purchases to bus specific paragraphs.
At this time, these are only proposed amendments to the Expenditure Plan and there are no proposed changes to the Measure K Ordinance. The public hearing process may identify other proposals.
If you have any comments relevant to the Ordinance and Expenditure Plan amendment process, you are invited to be present. If you challenge the nature of any proposed action in court, you may be limited to raising only those issues you or someone else raised at the public hearing described in this notice or in written correspondence delivered to SJCOG at or prior to the public hearing.
