About Measure K

MK logo newMeasure K has been helping to move the region since San Joaquin County voters approved the half-cent sales tax for transportation projects in 1990 for 20 years. After seeing Measure K’s success and progress, nearly 78% of county voters renewed the sales tax in 2006 for another 30 years. That’s money for street, roads and freeways, public transit networks, and pedestrian and bicycle friendly programs. For Fiscal Year 2023-24, nearly $80.2 million in Measure K funding was used on transportation improvements in San Joaquin County. Measure K, managed by the San Joaquin Council of Governments for those improvements, delivers priority transportation projects residents depend on every day. In other words, Measure K helps to send us on Pathways to Progress.
