Measure K has been moving the region since San Joaquin County voters approved the half-cent sales tax for transportation projects in 1990 for 20 years. After seeing Measure K’s success and progress, nearly 78% of county voters renewed the sales tax in 2006 for another 30 years. That’s money for street, roads and freeways, public transit networks, and pedestrian and bicycle friendly programs. For Fiscal Year 2022-23, nearly $60 million in Measure K funding was used on transportation improvements in San Joaquin County.
