The Center for Demographic Studies (CDS) at San Joaquin Council of
Governments serves as the leading data center for the San Joaquin County
region. CDS helps government entities, private businesses, non-profit
organizations, and individual citizens make informed decisions by
providing a wide range of the most updated data for this region.

Population,
Employment, & Housing Unit Projections
As the designated Metropolitan Planning Organization for San Joaquin
County, SJCOG is required by federal law to periodically update and
adopt estimates of future population and employment for the region. The
forecasts are used as the foundation for the Regional Transportation
Plan, Air Quality Conformity Analyses, traffic modeling, and other
planning studies.
