CAREERS

Qualification and employment considerations by the San Joaquin Council of Governments are based on the truthfulness and completeness of the statements in the employment application.

Employees must understand that the San Joaquin Council of Governments will investigate the truthfulness of all statements made on applications and that contact of former employers and other listed references or other persons who can verify information.

Employees must give consent for all contacted persons, including former employers, to provide information concerning this application and release each contacted person from liability for providing such information.

Employees may be subject to drug testing during employment at any time at San Joaquin Council of Governments discretion. Employees should also be aware that COG employees are placed on a minimum six months initial probationary period. Just as the employee is free to leave the COG’s employment at any time, the COG has the right to terminate the employee at any time.

SALARY AND BENEFITS

In addition to salary, SJCOG employees receive a generous benefit package that increases total annual compensation.

Benefits include paid time off, group health, dental, vision, and life insurance as well as disability and workers’ compensation plans.   SJCOG participates in the International City/County Management Association (ICMA) Retirement Corporation with an employer paid contribution of 15%. Employees are eligible to enroll in a deferred compensation program and may participate in the SJCOG transportation incentive program.
