Transportation

As the regional transportation planning agency for San Joaquin County, SJCOG establishes the long-range priorities for the region’s transportation system through the development of the 20-year Regional Transportation Plan.  This plan identifies improvements across the entire system, including the road and highway network, bus and rail transit systems, goods movement, the environment, and advanced technologies.

 SJCOG implements the long-range plan by allocating millions of dollars each year in local, state, and federal funds to improve the region’s transportation system.  The programs and projects described on this website are each components of the transportation planning and funding process that is designed to achieve a balanced, multi-modal transportation system in San Joaquin County.
