PROGRAMS & PROJECTS > Regional Planning Airport Land Use CommissionLand-use planning around airports is a shared responsibility involving local governments, county airport land use commissions and the public. San Joaquin County is home to six airports that serve commercial and general aviation users. See map of San Joaquin County Airports. The ALUC (SJCOG) works with cities and counties to ensure consistency between local land-use plans and comprehensive land use plans for airport areas. An Airport Land Use Compatibility Plan (ALUCP) Update is currently underway. During the first phase of the project a complete inventory of each airport was conducted. The data obtained from this inventory was used to create contours of expected noise that will radiate from each airport during normal operations. The contours were used as a baseline for land use compatibility zones. 2009 Final San Joaquin County Airport Land Use Compatibility
