Interstate 5 Widening Project
Project Description
This I-5 Widening Project will widen I-5 from 6 to 8 lanes between Country
Club Boulevard and Eight Mile Road. The project will also include
auxiliary lanes between the March Lane, Benjamin Holt Drive and Hammer
Lane interchanges and traffic operations systems. This project is being
evaluated for operation as High Occupancy Vehicle (HOV) lanes with the
potential addition of HOV lanes from Charter Way to Country Club. The
proposed widening would occur in the median and be designed to provide
standard lane and shoulder width with concrete median barrier and sound
walls. The purpose of the proposed improvements is to provide congestion
relief on I-5 and to provide improved regional connectivity.
