Dana Cowell 

Deputy Director Dana Cowell
We at SJCOG mourn the passing of our Deputy Director Dana Cowell, who passed away on the morning of January 21, 2012, after a long bout with cancer. He was 56. Dana joined SJCOG in 2006 after serving in a number of positions over the course of 26 years with the California Department of Transportation.

We offer our condolences to his wife, Van Ha To-Cowell, the couple’s two sons, Evan and Andrew, and the rest of his family.

Memorial Service
Date: Saturday, Feb. 4, 2012
Time: 11:00 a.m.
Place: Central Methodist Church, 3700 Pacific Ave., Stockton.

Flower/Plant donations can be delivered to the church the day of the service.

2012 Regional Transportation Improvement Program
The RTIP is a listing of state highway, grade separations, and local road projects proposed for funding in the San Joaquin region from the State Transportation Improvement Program for Fiscal Years 2012/13 through 2016/17.

2011 Regional Transportation Impact Fee Update
The RTIF program has just completed it's 5th year of implementation and as required, SJCOG has just completed a comprehesive review to ensure the nexus analysis and fee schedule relect current assumptions for growth projections, transportation system impacts, project costs, and anticiapted funding sources.

Measure K Annual Report Released
The 2010/2011 Measure K Annual Report, highlighting the significant transportation improvements made in the region from July 2010 to July 2011,  is now available. The report documents progress on projects funded by San Joaquin County's half-cent transportation improvement sales tax.

The report can be viewed in our new Flip Magazine version or in PDF format. Printed copies may be requested by calling the SJCOG offices at 209-235-0600 (supplies are limited).

2011 San Joaquin Valley Blueprint Awards Winners
Check out this video that highlights the winners of the 2011 San Joaquin Valley Blueprint Awards. San Joaquin County had two winners this year: RTD’s Downtown Transit Center and Carol Ornelas CEO of Visionary Homebuilders as the winner of the Darrel Hildebrand Leadership Award.

Interregional Multi-Modal Corridor Study
This study, to analyze the effects of multi-modal and goods movement strategies on Interstate-580/Interstate-205 Altamont Pass, was funded through a Caltrans Interregional Transportation Partnership Grant. In addition to SJCOG, this collaborative effort involved Caltrans Districts 4 & 10, Metropolitan Transportation  Commission, Alameda County Transportation Commission, and the Stanislaus Council of Governments.

2011 Measure K Renewal Strategic Plan
SJCOG has released the final 2011 MKR Strategic Plan for review. Hard copies are available upon request. A log of policy updates between the 2007 and 2011 Strategic Plans has been prepared and is currently being reviewed by the standing committees.

Bicycle, Pedestrian, and Safe Routes to School Regional Plan
SJCOG has contracted with Alta Planning + Design to develop a regional plan for San Joaquin County. The plan will serve as a guide to planning, developing, and managing a regional bike/ped network. View more details HERE

 

Regional Deficiency Plan
SJCOG has released the final Regional Deficiency Plan and TDM Action Plan for the Congestion Management Program. Contact Laura Brunn, Associate Regional Planner, with any comments or questions regarding the plan.
